Final Drift 2 Cut
Here's my final version of my drift 2 walk. I really focused on trying to associate sounds embodying nature with pictures that achieve the same feelings. Obviously, sounds that were man made were matched with more industrial images. I think it's important to see the peaceful state of existence mixed with the ruckus created by mankind. I'm pretty satisfied with the end result and I hope you'll enjoy it too.

Sound Rough Cut
In making the shift from silence to sound, I really wanted not only to try and match the photographed images with like sounds, but also mismatch. I believe that a mismatch of sounds to imagery really helps to give the audience a sense for the harmony in the relationship between nature and man-made lifestyles. I assume in the final version of my drift, I'll have more balance and variety with sound and picture. I'm also hoping to create a rhythmic flow between the different audio clips as well as the pictures displayed.
Silent Rough Cut
My silent rough cut sketch is a preview into what the final product will look like. I wanted to focus on textural imagery of things incorporated and encountered in every day life. I think ultimately there will be a better mix between more man-made objections and nature. However, in looking at the textural composition of an object, you really get a sense of the imagery incorporated by that particular object.

Start & Strat
I was planning on starting at the same corner that my drift 1 started, however instead of going east when I get down the river path I was planning on going west. I want to cross over the river and see what that side has to explore.
In terms of my drift strategy I was going to do two separate walks. One for audio, following the same path as my drift 1, but instead of going east I'll head west. On the second walk I was planning on doing my video recording and still shots. So for that I think I was going to just wonder aimlessly and see what inspires me. I'm the kind of person who when they walk I like to let my curiosities take me places. If it wasn't for the rain on drift 1, I could've walked around forever. Hopefully I'll have more time to really capture images that speak to the audience and myself and hopefully those images will inspire a strong direction for my final production.
